A Ranking of Chain Restaurants in Maricopa County

Dining has become a national pastime here in Arizona, and thanks to the phenomenal growth in population, Phoenix and Maricopa County have become a hub for great family dining. Here’s a list of some of the top chain restaurants around the Valley of the Sun.

3. PF Chang’s. Headquartered in Scottsdale, P.F Chang’s has become a worldwide chain that provides Asian-themed casual dining. As of October 2014, P. F. Chang’s operated 204 restaurants in the United States and 56 in international markets. It has now become the largest full-service casual Chinese restaurant chain and the US, and is still among the favorites here in the greater Phoenix area.

2. California Pizza Kitchen. The original location opened in Beverly Hills back in the mid 80s. Two former federal prosecutors Rick Rosenfield and Larry Flax combined their passion for pizza and created the chain that put California on the pizza map alongside Chicago and New York. They’re pizza with a California twist on global flavors. CPK was among the first pizza chains to offer some non-traditional varieties of pizza pies, such as Thai chicken, barbecued chicken, caramelized pear and artichoke. If you’re in the mood to experiment with your pizza palate, find them at any one of their five locations around the Valley.

1. Oregano’s. Of course, the number one chain is also a pizza chain, because pizza is awesome. When you go to Oregano’s the portions are always big, whether you get pizza or pasta, and their Chicago-style pies and kitschy atmosphere are sure to leave you satisfied. They also win for having the most creative billboards around the city, and if you save room for dessert, try the pizza cookie. Find them at any one of three locations here in Phoenix, but be prepared to wait. The place is so popular, all three locations are usually packed.
